The New United States of America

in #news7 years ago

With all the division, maybe it's time to go our separate ways.

"Hey, it's not you, it's me"
"Well, it is mostly you, but I'll say it is me, so you won't go away made"
"Alright, it is you. Just please go away and leave me alone."
"No...no...you can keep the soy latte, I have my porterhouse steak and beer."
"Now you're just embarrassing yourself, just please go away."

After decades of division in America, there has been more and more talk about splitting up the country. The last time we had this much division, we had a war and the only thing is proved was that there isn't really an exist plan outlined in the Constitution. There are guidelines on how to add more states, but if a state did want to leave and create their own silly rules, nothing states how that can be done.

Well, there is a simple logical reason for that. When the colonies sent representatives to form a new union, they knew that they must stick together or Britain would just simply pick off each colony one by one and put them back into the fold. This is why we ended up with the 3/5ths compromise, in order to get the southern colonies into the union, but not give them extra representation for their non-voting slave population. This plan worked for some time and kept us together through the War of 1812, but then things fell apart and we ended up with the Civil War, because leaders in the southern states did not believe "All men are created equal".

Interestingly enough, the current illegal immigration issue is causing the same fracture among the states. Local city governments and some states have decided to give sanctuary to illegal aliens. The Constitution clearly states that the Federal government has the power to determine citizenship.

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

~ Article 1, Section 8

It is clear, except those trying to provide sanctuary, that those who enter the country without proper verification are here illegally and must leave and attempt to reenter through legal means. 100s of thousands of people enter the country legally every year and get citizenship status. To those who are against illegal immigrants residing in the country, it is simply that we are a country of laws and that everyone should abide by those laws. If we are to ignore one law, then what is the next law that we will ignore.

Those who want to protect those who are here illegally, like to point out that we are a land of immigrants. This is not true, as we are a land that was colonized and settled and then became a nation. Before the colonies, there was no established nations in the Americas. Indian tribes disputed over territories and most did not lay claim to land or sold land to the arriving settlers. Now that a country has been established, then those who enter should follow the rules or we do not have a country. If we do not have a country, then we should not have a government that collects taxes and then distributes it to others.

Anyway, since there has been talk of California leaving and such, I decided to draw a new map of the United States of America. Some people have drawn these maps by simply cutting out certain states. Mostly the western and northern states. I have decided to be a little more exact.

American Redoubt and the State of Jefferson

Splitting off from California is not a new thing. There have been many proposals for splitting up California into several states. These proposals usually follow the trend that due to how the population is spread out, those near the capital have more power than those in the more agricultural land of the north. The same issues have been found in states of Washington and Oregon. A movement has been in place for awhile to form the State of Jefferson

We the people of the 23 counties of Northern California, hereafter known as Jefferson, formally demand an immediate Article 4, Section 3, (U.S.) state split. We declare the State of California is in open rebellion and insurrection against the government of the United States.

On the other spectrum, there have been people who believe that there is no saving the United States of America as a whole and they just want to be in a spot that they can control with the Shit Hits the Fan (SHTF). When The End of the World as We Know It (TEOTWAWKI) happens, then these people will form their new country. Most of this is located in the northwestern territory, where the populations are small, which means that the possibility of government control is even smaller. They have called this area American Redoubt, which began around 2011 and was dreamed up by author James Wesley Rawles, a former U.S. Army Intelligence officer and mentioned in his book "Patriots".

Because of these two movements, I have create two new states and made sure that those ares were included in the New United States of America.

West Cuba and EastAsia

At some point, you just have to give up. Hawaii was ill-gotten and probably no longer serves as a strategic military location. If it did, we shouldn't have given independence to the Marshall Islands. So, they can now be an independent state that will be quickly purchased by Japan. Sorry for Japan, since they already have tons of issues.

As for the southern portion of Florida. Well, we'll just give it to escaped Cubans, since they probably own most of it anyway. They can finally declare war on Cuba itself and take that back over.

South Vancouver and New North Mexico

As I stated, nobody wants California or most of Washington and Oregon. Heck, if we could cut out Austin and stick it in with those, we would do that was well. Mexico wants most of what they lost back, so let's give them some of that land back, it was going to crap anyway. Canada can have what is left of Washington and Oregon.

What's left, that doesn't go to Mexico will be the new state of West Texas.

South Cuckistan and New Venezuela

There are just parts of the mid-west that just don't belong. Chicago, for one, is a place that no area of the mid-west really wants. Since the loonies in Minnesota are north of that, we might as well cut off a chunk of that area. I used rivers as boundaries to help carve out the area that needs to go.

The same goes for the New England area. There are portions that aren't as bad as New York, but we can't save everything. So, using river boundaries, I cut out the socialist paradise for the socialists to make a mess of. The good thing is, once the mini-ice age sets in around 2030, everyone up there will just freeze to death because they will have outlawed energy production.

Welp, that's my map idea.
What do you think?

Most Europeans do see the United States as a complete country, where everybody has the same mindset and ideas. I have lived for 5 months as exchange student in Missouri and had several vacations in different states.
I am always telling my friends that the USA can and should be compared with Europe. All the states hae different ideas, their own history and the people have their own identity. You just cannot compare a Texan with somebody who is living is Miami. It’s like different countries.
They are able to reflect this on Europe just because it are different countries but they keep on looking at America as one country.
Here in Europe the politicians are trying to the opposite as what you wrote. They are trying to build one Europe, where we do can compare the countries with the USA states.

A lot of people don't understand that each state was a Sovereign State until the Civil War.
It is easier to think when you have a State Department that handles affairs with Foreign Sovereign States.

Before people started moving around a lot in the 1980s, each state was even more distinct. Just like foreign states, who had their own unique culture and customs, before the EU started squelching that.

Besides the fact that Europe does cost the countries a lot of money, people don't really support Europe here, due to the fact that they don't see added value.
I guess this is the same for the States. What is the added value besides being able to life in any state or the shared currency. People should ask what extra value a higher institution will bring.
In contrast what we think there are added values, they are just not in the plain view. Take Brittan for instance with their Brexit. Most people already regret voting for it.
Take Catalonia in Spain, where 50% of the votes were in favor of the separation but also 50% were against.
If the states will separate, probably new born states will start to co-operate after a few years!

Britain should have never join the EU in the first place.
I hate to say it, but my heritage country of Scotland has turned into a bunch of government teat sucking wusses. I guess it was good that my fore fathers left there before the 1700s.

Okay lets play RISK on your new map and see how it will all unfold :)

very nice

I agree with your conclusions and the dividing up of The US is nothing new.

However, the war of northern aggression was never about slavery.
It was about whether states had a right to leave the union.

Lincoln proved, through military might, that the states do not have a right to leave the union. But also, in the same act, declared the union null and void. At that point the republic was dead. The government abandoned.

Lincoln sent home congress, and they never returned.

What exists now is The United States Inc and it exists with powers above the states. It only gives lip service to states making their own laws.

Now, California. It is only that area up near the bay that is the problem. The rest of the state is almost all red. (except LA is 50/50)

The general consensus outside of the bay area is that those people in govern-cement are insane. Driving business from the state, and then ignoring the facts. Cutting off water for farming, because the water is needed for a brine shrimp. Etc...

However, the war of northern aggression was never about slavery.
It was about whether states had a right to leave the union.

Uh...that's what I said. The reason for leaving was for slavery, but the war was about whether or not a state could leave, because it isn't outlined in the Constitution that they can leave.

Now, California. It is only that area up near the bay that is the problem. The rest of the state is almost all red. (except LA is 50/50)

The problem is the gap between West Texas and the west coast of California. Sacrifices have to be made.

Noooooo, don't leave me to fend for myself!

Maybe i could develop a earthquake ray, and then hasten the splitting off of the bay area from the rest of the state.

It is possible that the State of Jefferson could stretch down the east side of the former state of California.

Yep. The central valley is hard to determine which way it would go. The large rancheros that have existed before Kalifornia are still very much Mexican at heart. But many of the farmers are Jeffersonians.

So, i really don't know which way they would go.

However, there will be the state of Mormon. Because they will defend it, and no one will want to dispute them for the area. (you'all can have it)

This is kinda interesting addition to that thought from history.

Looks almost like New North Mexico.

The Mormons can fight Mexico for territory, they've got history with being brutal.

Speaking of earthquake alerts on the bay...off the cost of Ferndale !

It wasn't me!
I didn't do anything!
No one saw me!

Nice and enjoyed but as a Southern Gent myself, I have to disagree with the Southern Leaders comment. Maybe and more than likely they did believe as you stated but the Civil War was NOT, IMO and research, fought over slavery as we are taught but rather taxation and tariffs unfair to the south which would have, in essence, enslaved the southern people to the banks. Lincoln offered the south it's slaves, as I understand it, if only the South would "get on board" and pay. To my knowledge the history was written by the victors, as always, in a way to sell their side.

The war was fought over whether or not states can leave the union.
The disagreement was started due to slavery.

All taxes and tariffs point towards issue with slave labor giving the south an unfair market advantage and possibly voting advantage. You can't take our slavery for the reason for the taxation and tariffs. If you read the declaration of secession documents from the southern states, most if not all, claim that slavery was the main reason for secession.

Well I know opinions vary as well as the research individuals look into and I respect all but look into this as it somewhat sums up what I'm trying to get across. I'm feeling lazy today but MR. Rich's post speaks volumes in my book. How've you been by the way? For me I'm waiting on these markets to turn around and trying to figure out what the hells up with the weather in my neck of the woods.

Well, I predicted (from my gut) that we would see a turn around after the 15th. I don't know what the FUD is for today. I'm just annoyed that I don't have enough liquid crypto to sell for riding these waves. I feel like I always get into things at the wrong time. LOL

Amen to that. I feel the same way. Good to hear from you brother.

No...no...you can keep the soy latte, I have my porterhouse steak and beer.
the most sensible part of the whole article....and that map is just silly.
If I recall when the original states agreed to be bound by the constitution there WAS an exit clause...in fact it was the onliest thing that convinced several states to do so.

for a very concise history of the war of northern aggression read.

IF the constitution and the union is about freedom (imagine that) , then there is the freedom to leave.

WE WILL FORCE YOU TO BE FREE!

how well has that ever worked out?

The map is silly and so is the reason for why people are drawing them, but here we are.

True, it does seem a bit hypocritical to say that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is about freedom, but yet the states don't have the freedom to leave the union. It is possible, that the Constitution, while not saying so, left the ability to leave "up to the states".

As far as any history of the Civil War goes, if one ignores the written declarations then one is only telling a partial telling of the story.

Here is the Confederate States of America - Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union.

Now, as I have said, the war was about right to leave. The reason was about slavery and making slaves citizens who could vote. Read that declaration and tell me that you honestly believe that slavery had nothing to do with the reason for secession.

We affirm that these ends for which this Government was instituted have been defeated, and the Government itself has been made destructive of them by the action of the non-slaveholding States. Those States have assume the right of deciding upon the propriety of our domestic institutions; and have denied the rights of property established in fifteen of the States and recognized by the Constitution; they have denounced as sinful the institution of slavery; they have permitted open establishment among them of societies, whose avowed object is to disturb the peace and to eloign the property of the citizens of other States. They have encouraged and assisted thousands of our slaves to leave their homes; and those who remain, have been incited by emissaries, books and pictures to servile insurrection.

For twenty-five years this agitation has been steadily increasing, until it has now secured to its aid the power of the common Government.

read rich's piece then get back to me about the 'reason' for the civil war.

I did.
If he is going to ignore all the documentation about the plans to extend slavery in the US, that's fine. Doesn't make his article true, but he can print it.

and....I'm apparently not ready to be let out of my cage yet...
later..
