It's time to reign in the police and their unions!

I know this is a controversial subject but it's one that needs to be addressed. I do believe we need the police, however, we need a police force that honors their oath and values citizen's civil liberties. All you have to do is watch the news or Youtube and one can see example after example of police brutality and outright abuse of citizens. A badge and a gun does not grant one extra rights.

So, how did we get to this point. To keep it brief, politicians and police unions are the main cause of a brutal police force. Police are being used as revenue enforcers and collectors because local, state, and federal authorities think is okay to abuse people in order to steal from them. When the police officers are caught, they go whining to their union to save them. Police unions should be abolished and officers should be bonded, that way the public can hold them accountable in civil court. Also, if you were in the military, the police is no place for you.
