Chemical attack in Syria
Yesterday, on April 8, there was another chemical attack in Syria, Douma, east of Damascus. Rescue workers in Syria reported finding at least 42 people dead in their homes from apparent suffocation. Trump immediately blamed Assad for the chemical attack in his tweet
“Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay. Open area immediately for medical help and verification. Another humanitarian disaster for no reason whatsoever. SICK!”
Trump also put some blame on former President Obama in one of his tweets “If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster would have ended long ago! Animal Assad would have been history!”
While the Syrian government has denied any involvement in this attack. And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said no evidence has been found of a chemical weapons attack in Syria’s formerly rebel-held town of Douma.
Trump will decide how the USA will respond in the next 48 hours and that all military options are on the table.
Many mainstream media are putting this horrific attack blame on Assad, though I don’t know if Assad did this but it doesn’t make sense to me. Because Syrian government is pretty much at the brink of victory. It’s also worth mentioning that in 2014 Syria has handed over remaining chemical weapons for destruction. Even the last chemical attack Mattis has said recently that there is no evidence it was Syrian government.
Most interesting coincidence is that almost exactly a year ago, Nikki Haley Trumps US ambassador, has said that the USA goal is no longer regime change in Syria. Few days after chemical attack happaend with 80 people dead. Two days later Trump launched tomahwak missile strike on syrian bases. And now Trump has said that his planning to pull out of syria, and this chemical attach happens. Trump blamed Assad for this and said the USA will respon, how? Will know in a couple of days. But this comes almost as a perfect excuse to stay in Syria.
