Why do Ganesh Visarjan
Chakrapani Bhatta, the astrologer of Kashi, says that Ganesh ji had composed the Mahabharata for 10 consecutive days, due to which his body started burning, then Ved Vyas ji took him to a water source and bathed him in water there. This gave great relief to Ganesh ji. That day was Anant Chaturdashi. Since then Ganesh ji's immersion started on this date.
According to religious beliefs, when we worship the gods and goddesses in the form of idols, we call them from their lok and when the worship is over, we immerse them, leave them so that they can again return to their lok. Go in and install.

Method of Ganesh Visarjan
Worship Bappa regularly in the morning on Anant Chaturdashi. After that, bid them farewell in auspicious time. For this, sanctify the wooden plank on a post or on it. Spread yellow or red colored cloth on it and make a swastika on it. Now lift Ganesh ji from the place of worship with the echo of drums and drums and get him seated on a post or a platform.
Now worship Bappa with flowers, fruits, modak, sandalwood, kumkum etc. Then with cheers take it to the bank of the river or the bank of the pond. There, perform Bappa's aarti and seek blessings from him for the fulfillment of his wishes.
