Jupiler League Week 23 Saturday Previews

in #news2 years ago

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

Not the best Friday with both my positions losing for -0.65 units to start the weekend. 8 more matches to go starting with 4 today on Saturday...

Westerlo vs Kv Mechelen

Westerlo lost Lyle Foster who was their top striker with 8 goals for far this season in the league and this will be the main unknown factor in this match. They do still have a lot of quality in the team and are excellent at home and in their 1st halves. Mechelen on the other hand is a team that is 3rd last in the away 1st halves and this season is 2W-7L against the asian handicaps. They clearly show a different face away compared to home as it's harder to mask the slight lack in quality without home fans. They will also be without key player Storm and their coach is suspended for this match. Overall I see Westerlo (even without Foster) as the team with more quality and a big home advantage. I took 0.3 units on Westerlo 1st Half -0.25 @ 2.097 and 0.2 units on Westerlo -0.25 @ 1.803. Traditionally these play matches with plenty of goals so it should be an open match. The fact that Weterlo no longer has foster while Storm is injured holds me back a bit even though it feels like it's calculated into the total line. Both are also quite high on 2H goals (65.9% & 61.5%) so I'm not in a rush. Both also have been quite high on corners. Westerlo went to 10 or more in their last 4 while Mechelen in 7 of their last 9 matches. The last away match of Mechelen went to 25 while the last home match of Westerlo went to 15. I will be looking for an in-game over corner bet and already took a crypto bet of 5000 XFUN on Over 13.5 Corners @ 4.400

Kortrijk vs Oostende

Kortrijk have picked up their form a bit with their new coach but it's by no means spectacular. They did get out of the direct danger zone and now play against direct rival Oostende who everyone writes off already as one of the teams sure to relegate. I'm not so sure of this even though the general team spirit has not been the best. Luck also just hasn't been on their side while at the same time they haven't been able to be consistent for an entire match. In these relegation battle matches it's classic for nerves to be high and quality to be low resulting in low-scoring 1st halves. I was willing to take a 0.3 unit gamble on 1st Half under 1.25 @ 1.805. Both combined this season are 8-6-8 which feels representative on the real odds. Oostende in their last 2 away matches got crushed on the corners going 10-2 and 10-1. Kortrijk at the same time however is not the best corner team but their last 3 home matches went to 11+.

OH Leuven vs Sint-Truiden

Stvv was unfortunate last week to get an early red card against AA Gent which left them without chance. They have been a pretty solid team especially in defense but will be without Leistner whi is the defender with most minutes played so far this season for them. OHL has picked up their form a bit again lately with a good match against Union despite a 1-0 loss. Maertens is still injured for OHL while their top striker Gonzalez is questionable. OHL being a tiny home favorite with a line suggesting few goals feels about right and I'm staying away. No Pre-Game Bets

Charleroi vs Union

Union had a difficult match last week but still managed to get the deserved win. I did take some nots that them no longer having Vanzeir combined with the many matches playes with the same players could put some pressure on their results going forward. Charleroi after Mazzu came back has gone on an unbeaten run with 2 wins and 2 draws. From the looks of it, he doesn't play the old style of just crawling back trying to break down the opponent but they are willing to go forward also. It still remains a question how permanent this new coach change effect will be as I do see them as a team that does lack some quality especially compared to a team like Union. I'm not comfortable taking any bets as Union when in the lead tends to just kill the match, especially on the road. The bet I'm closest to taking is th 1H over but I will wait to see some kind of confirmation first. No Pre-Game Bets
