Oh, hey, we didnt suspend him for refusing to participate in the walk-out protest, but for refusal to go with the teacher participating in it and we cant allow students to be alone...
Which is totaly different.

They tried to force a political agenda on him, one side or the other and he refused to make any.
He did the right thing.

It remembers me on a case we had here in Austria. The School made a visit to a mosque (They also visited churches and synagogues) for the Religious Education subject and the teacher made the students pray or they would receive punishment. Some of the students didn't like that at all and it ended with the teacher being fired, because you can't force people to pray (to a different god) legally.

No, they didn't "force a political agenda on him". At all. He could have gone to the study hall and studied there instead of going to the walkout, as explained in the article. No school anywhere thinks it's acceptable to leave students alone in a classroom for any extended period of time.

But you're right, no student (or anyone, for that matter) should be forced to pray to any god, ever, under any circumstances.

Thank you for sharing this, and adding the details. Great coverage.

Out come based programming is what is happening in public schools in the U.S.. It is all about submitting to authority and not standing out by having thoughts that don't match the programming. Thanks for the post.

Wow - that google screen capture is deeply disturbing. At least Pharma has a solution, more "happy pills" with suicide warnings for the kiddies!!
