Doctors remove 1.5 kg mop of hair from woman's stomach
Following a three-hour-long surgery, a wad of hair weighing around 1.5 kg has been expelled from the stomach of a 25-year-old lady at the Government-run Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital in Indore.
Dr RK Mathur, who drove the five-part group of specialists which led the surgery on Monday, said the lady's condition was steady.
The lady experienced a mental issue which drove her to remove and bite the hair from her head. Over some undefined time frame the hair shaped a hard knot inside the stomach, he told PTI.
Had the hair not been expelled from her stomach, it would have caused a genuine medicinal issue, Dr Mathur included.
