ARK Crew Announces Release of Source Code to Github

From the moment we set out to make ARK, we wanted it to be different. With a team of over 30 individuals from varied backgrounds, nations, races, religions, and political beliefs, and occupations ranging from backend developers to licensed Medical Doctors, we believe that the ARK Crew reflects a true sense of decentralized development, a breadth of experience, and range of thought that exemplifies the crypto movement. We believe this level of diversity is one of our greatest strengths and we want to carry that through to every aspect of development.

ARK is about inclusion, bringing people together, and creating something that can impact all of our lives in a meaningful way. To do that, we need you. We need everyone to get involved. We don’t want ARK to be a project, we want it to be a movement. That is why we are officially announcing the release of the ARK source code to Github.

We want ARK to define what an Open Source project should look like. As we move forward, everything we build for ARK will be completely open source. That will include our mobile app, our wallets, profit-sharing delegate sites, the payment smart cards, and the entire package. We aren’t afraid of competition or someone coming along and cannibalizing our code, in truth, we highly encourage it. The more people we can get involved in pushing the technology, the better it will be for all of us.

ARK isn’t really about the token or the technology. ARK is about the people that come together under a common banner to push forward innovative and revolutionary technology that puts the control back in the hands of the people.

Whether you are a front-end developer, back-end developer, or run a bakery, we need you. Review the source code, help us audit what we have, or code the next step to making it better. Let us know if you have ideas or improvements, or if you think something looks broken. We want criticism, praise, ideas, we’ll even take the FUD if it means you are here and helping push ARK forward. Fork our code. Seriously. It will only make ARK stronger. Instead of building more divides, reach out and let’s work to create something better together.

This release is just the first step in relaying our vision for what ARK can become. The truth is, this industry has become too corporate, too isolated, and has lost track of what made it something people could believe in. We want to bring that feeling back, and put this movement back in the hands of the people. ARK isn’t just a technology, it’s a community and a movement that can make meaningful contributions by working together to push the boundaries of what the technology can do. Together, we are much stronger than the sum of our parts.
