Turkey, released 8 Amnesty activists

Surprise decision in the first hearing of the trial of 11 Turkish and foreign activists accused of complicity in the coup in July 2016, with the judge who decreed the release of eight Amnesty activists in jail.
The prosecutor had called for the release of seven of the eight defendants who waited for the prison trial, requesting the continuation of the detention for one accused, Veli Acun, while three were free with the conditional sentence.
