Preserving Pre-Trump Climate Change Facts

in #news8 years ago (edited)

All tweets about climate change facts by the temporarily rouge Badlands National Park Service account were removed, presumably due to censorship pressure from the Trump regime. Check it out for yourself, the account has been scrubbed and all that remains is pretty pictures of animals.

This is a small chance to try out using the blockchain to preserve some information that has been wiped from it's source. While I understand that government property is not a soapbox for personal views, silencing the presentation of facts is an attack on personal liberty, and I believe it must be resisted even if you do not believe in climate change.

The only problem is, of course, that the images must be hosted outside the blockchain, and would be open to censure if the hosting service or I was personally pressured to remove them. So I will just transcribe the information here as well. Still, the ability to preserve actual binary data on a distributed blockchain would be a remarkable thing, allows us to preserve not just text, but anything, for as long as the chain can be mined.
