BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) struck back against the jihadist rebels in the northern countryside of Hama, today, after the latter attempted to breach their defenses near the demilitarized zone.

Led by their 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army attacked a group of jihadist rebels near the town of Massasnah after the latter's missile launcher was identified by the government drones in the northern countryside of the Hama province.

The Syrian Arab Army reportedly targeted the jihadist defenses with a plethora of artillery shells and rockets before halting their assault by mid-afternoon.

Another unit from the Syrian Arab Army confronted a group of Islamist rebels from Jaysh Al-Izza after they were caught infiltrating the government posts near the key city of Mhardeh.
