458 graduate nurses to be deployed

More than 450 nurses will be deployed at various hospitals in Mpumalanga following the graduation ceremony of these promising young minds.
It was a joyous occasion on Friday, 14 July when 458 jubilant graduates obtained a Diploma in General Nursing, Community and Psychiatric as well as Midwifery diplomas during a ceremony that was held at the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa in Mbombela.

Speaking on behalf of the Mpumalanga Department of Health, Chief Director of Human Resource Development Management, Jabulani Nkosi said nurses are the pillars of strength in society.
“It is quite evident that our nurses (graduates) are a pillar of strength of the society. You are the saver of lives; therefore we pride ourselves with you. We are aware that there are still challenges that are experienced by the students in the College. We have been working around the clock to ensure that this is addressed,” said Nkosi.
He congratulated the graduates for successfully acquiring their qualifications and urged them to go out into the world and make a different in the provision of health care in the province.
“We cannot compromise or deny our people the health care they deserve. That is why we soldier on despite the many challenges that we experience in our various health facilities,” he added.
The prestige gathering was graced and supported by senior officials from the Mpumalanga Department of Health, Chairperson of Portfolio Committee on Health and Social Development Hon. Patricia Ngobeni and senior officials from Sifako Makgatho University and general community members.
