Director General of Informatics Applications (Aptika) Ministry of Communications and Infomatics (Kemenkominfo) Semuel Abrijani Pangarepan ensure that Facebook will establish a permanent business entity (BUT) in Indonesia. That means, Facebook will open a permanent office in the country.

Certainty about the opening of this office was delivered by Asia Pacific Facebook Representatives, Jeff Wu and Alvin Tan. Both meet Semuel and Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Rudiantara in Kemenkominfo office today, Wednesday (2/8/2017).

Semuel revealed, the process of BUT Facebook is now almost complete. It is estimated that the business entity will actually stand before August 17, 2017.

"We've talked to Facebook and since March 2017 they have also obtained the principle permit for the establishment of this BUT," said Semuel when talking with reporters after the meeting.

"The BUT is PT. Later will be used, among others, take care of the matter of taxes, customer service, and all business activities in Indonesia, "said Semuel.

Semuel said that the process of making BUT is indeed quite long. Despite having obtained the principle permit since March 2017, the social media giant still has to wait and adjust the Indonesian Business Class Standard (KBLI) issued through the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

KBLI is useful for determining the qualification of business type, and is included in the Application Letter of Trade Business License (SIUP), Company Registration Certificate (TDP), and determination of investment licensing qualification.

"Kan we have a new KBLI about the digital platform, I think the direction there. Last May published, so have to adjust to the KBLI, "said Semuel.
