Welcome back to our Steemit tips series, Part 3 can be found by clicking here. As I continue on my Steemit journey looking for new ways to improve my posting abilities and find new aspects of steemit I never knew existed, I will share my findings in this series. The first thing I would like to share in part 4 is how to insert a quote.

Quoting text is very easy to do. All you need to do is place > in front of the text you want to quote. Make sure there is a space between > and the paragraph you want to highlight and it will look like the below.

We already went over some basic computer codes in our previous installments of this series. But an important one we haven't discussed yet is the quote feature. This feature is great for highlighting important aspects in your post or can be used when quoting your fellow steemian.

As a newbie it is hard to get started on Steemit. Joining a Steemit community will help you get noticed by more Steemit users and is a great way to interact with other members. There are allot of great communities out there. For example the #newbiegames community ( in which I have multiple games posted to ) is a great way to interact with new members and play in some very easy contest to win FREE SBD.

The second community I would like to highlight ( which I just found out about ) is the #steemitzombies community. As most know, re-blogging your past articles is frowned upon on steemit. The #steemitzombies is the exception. They do have some more then fair rules you must follow before re-blogging. I will highlight some of those rules below.

• #steemitzombies must be the first tag
• A link to the original article is to be posted in your re-blog
• Post must be at least 1 month old
• Re-blogs that already had high payouts will most likely be ignored
• Small introduction announcing the re-blog in your re-blogged post
• Support other re-bloggers

I think the above is a great option for those of us that spent hours on content when we had a small following to get the chance to show our work to our new followers once we have grown. I don't think 1 month is a long enough waiting period to re-blog a post but other then that I really like the concept of #steemitzombies.

We already went over centering images and text in our previous tips articles but did you know you can pull them to the left or to the right ? To use this feature use the below code.

Remove the * from the above code and it will pull the image or text to the right of your article and the above code will then look like the below.

Anything you type will be placed to the opposite side of your pulled text or image, like in this example.

Creating content isn't the only way to earn on Steemit. 25% Curation Reward is paid out on every post and rewarded to those who up-voted it. So if you read a quality post and up-vote you might earn a share of that 25 % curation reward.

Resteeming a quality post allows more viewers to see the post and will lead to the quality post getting more up-votes. Which helps the post to grow in rewards, which increases the 25 % shared curation reward for up-voters. Many factors are taking into consideration when the payout of the 25 % curation rewards take place. Such factors include your voting power / steem power and timing of your upvote.
