RE: Contest -- What’s Your Favorite Book?
Darn I've read so many I don't know if I could pick one...... I think I'll have to go with The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It's dark / gritty and minimalist just the way I like'em.
OMG that was the one I was gonna say!!! It's absolutely brilliant.
Damn... gonna have to pick another one now :P
That scene with the baby still gives me chills.
Oh yes. BBQ baby. The whole novel was haunting. I remember reading it with a feeling of dread in my stomach throughout. Such talent!
You have great taste in books :P
Exactly how I felt - I knew what was going to happen I could feel it coming. Likeb watching a slasher flick and you can see the killer but the protagonist can't. I had to put it down and walk away from it for like a week.
Lol, I know. It was very tense. I read it over a couple of days. It was part of one of my courses at the time. So glad it was there. Some of the other books I had to read were terrible :P
laters :D
This is a random winner so the same answer is fine!
Oh brill. Great idea to get people to share their fav books. Love it :D
I wouldn't call The Road my favorite but I certainly love it. Great choice!
I struggled - 1984 - the outsiders - apprenticeship of duddy kravits - Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction - a child called it - the long walk - God I could keep going - the mind parasites. I dread the idea of choosing a favorite film.
I love 1984 too! Dystopian/post-apocalyptic fiction is my favorite genre. I think it explores humanity in the most fascinating ways.
Sounds good. He's a well loved author.
