Hi Martin @martintruther am following you now. Those are very good questions. I arrived not knowing anyone here and it is good to find a familiar friend. BUT I have to say I have met some incredible people here on Steemit and looking forward to finding many more.

I used my first 30 days here just feeling my way around, there is also steemit.chat.com to help get answers, they are very helpful in there. That helps a great deal but found simply going to the different categories (topics) that interested me I was able to read their blogs, comments and replies so could tell who was focused on the same perspectives and information I was.

The blockchain is very different than anything I've experienced in the way of social networking but something I intend to become accustomed to. If you go to my blog and scroll through some of the posts I've made and those I've resteemed you will find some helpful tips too.
