How I got into Bitcoin

I'm 29 years old and live in a small town in southern Germany. I work a normal job in the IT and have learned coding in C#.
I'm a Bitcoin-Holder only since late November, but actually I heard of it before.

I wish I had heard of Bitcoin when you were still be able to mine them with your own PC. If I could live again, taking only piece of Information back into this replay, it would be the knowledge of Bitcoin.

It must have been around 2014 that I first heard of Bitcoin. A friend told me about it and that it's mostly used to buy drugs on Silk Road, but that there are also people making money of Bitcoins' volatility. At that time the price was already above 200$ and I did'nt have money to really get into it. Also I wasn't informed at all about the ideology and technology behind and thought it would be already way to late.
Today I tell people "If you want to get into Bitcoin educate yourself, read forums, watch the charts for a few weeks or months and then you have a mindset to decide if you want to invest in Bitcoin or not."

But then in November 2015 there were many reports about Bitcoin in the media and I thought to myself "The next time it does this, I want to be in." So I waited until the price got lower again and went in on a price a little over 300$.

Since then I anti-cyclical invest all the money that is left in the basket, without restricting my life. I only invest money in Bitcoin that I could affort to use and after all bills are payed. So far it's going very well and I never did that good financially. If I would sell all of my Bitcoins it would make a nice profit in fiat money, but it would be the most stupid thing I could do at the same time.

Shortly after the DAO incident, that I was not involved in, I'm also trading alt-coins, mainly with the goal to get more Bitcoins.
