New Covenant, renewed Covenant, or engagement
When asked are you in a New Covenant or renewed Covenant. How can one prove if they are in a New Covenant today or a renewed Covenant? The Bible has many scriptures on the Covenant but we're going to focus on a few. I would like to show my side of what I see. I am not here to say everyone is wrong but me but instead point out another view that I have studied all year. I could be totally wrong but I hope that you bear with me to listen to everything that I have to percent.
If you don't know and I know many do there was a divorce certificate given to the house of Israel. In this divorce they could no longer enter the kingdom and had no chance at all of forgiveness. [[Jer 3:8]] KJV And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
We had committed adultery and that is a touchy subject because we could go way deeper with this like what we do today. Adultery is a big sin. How would you feel if your spouse cheated on you? So think about that for a second how does the father feel? I believe in Jeremiah he showed how he felt when he gave them the divorce certificate.
So let's look at the Covenant. First off a covenant is an agreement like in marriage between two. You had a marriage in the Old Testament with the Ten Commandments. That was like your wedding vows, your commitment to the marriage.
Hebrews 8
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
If we look here in verse 9 we continued not in his Covenant and he regarded us not. Regarded means he was careless of or neglected us.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.
First 10 he tells us what the Covenant will be after those days. I believe those days are beginning to end. One reason why I say this look at the next part I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts. So I asked what is happening right now all over the world? Torah is being written on people's minds and hearts. His people are being chosen they are becoming his bride. He is molding us right now to be the perfect bride he is putting those laws into our hearts and Minds as we speak we are beginning to lay down our adultery.
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Look at the prophecy in this are we still teaching every man and his neighbor and his brother? Are not new people coming to torah everyday? So I beg to question how are we already in the New Covenant if more people are learning the New Covenant.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away
Ephesians 2
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
We were considered aliens exiled from the promise of Israel from the Covenant so we were no longer in the old Covenant at all we were kicked out or straight gentiles and not given the promise at all. We also have to remember Israel was gentiles because they were committing adultery they were no longer a part of the promise.
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ
With the blood of Messiah we have been made close. We have a chance to enter in to the marriage covenant but we have to be ready. We have to be a part of the body now. I call it the engagement time because in this time we are too prepare ourselves for the marriage covenant. This does not mean that we disobey this does not mean that we can worship other gods. What this means is we have a time and a chance to learn his ways what he desires what pleases him. A chance to become Israel and not the pagan not the Gentile. He loved us so much he was willing to die to give us the chance to be a part of his family tree and not kick us out because we wanted to commit adultery. So get ready and learn his ways. Have him mode You Into The Perfect Bride for the marriage covenant.
Well said! I have heard it say that "SEE we are in a new covenant and not that old covenant given by Moses!!" If you read verse 8 again carefully, it says that the fault was not with the covenant but with them as it says "For finding fault with them"
I also agree that we are not fully in the new covenant as we are still teaching each other. Once Yeshua comes we won't have to teach each other because...
