Design and continuity

In Jeep, this is also understood, so to distinguish the "fourth" Wrangler JL from the "third" JK at first glance is not easy.
But at the same time the car is completely new, and external differences - in proportions and details. Thus, the window line became lower, and the area of the glazing increased. This improved visibility, which in the outgoing generation was frankly unimportant. Due to the different shape of the radiator grill, as well as the changed angle of the windshield, the aerodynamics have slightly improved - taking into account the level of noise and fuel consumption of the current "Rangler", this can and should be reassessed.
In some versions, all the lighting equipment is made of LED, so the headlights have a special memorable "look" with round-shaped day lights and bright pupils in the middle. And the tail lights are outlined by a figure reminiscent of the famous canister Jeep. Buyers will be available dozens of body configurations thanks to the possibility to choose 3 or 5 doors, a rigid removable or soft top, and also functions for dismantling doors and windscreens. Since 2019, there will be half doors without frames, and the diversity will become even greater.
By the way, on the door hinges there is now engraved the size of the Torx tool, suitable for unscrewing the doors. The doors themselves, like the hood, the windshield frame, the wing extensions are made of aluminum. Together with hollow stabilizers, aluminum engine mounts and steering elements, this all saved 91 kg of car mass. At the same time thanks to a number of new struts and crossbars the body has become stiffer.
Interior and bells and whistles
In the interior of the revolution did not happen, but there are some significant innovations. First, he became softer and richer in materials and more humane in terms of the location of the controls. Secondly, there was a button to start the engine instead of the obsolete larva of the lock. The armchairs got more adjustments, and it's great, because landing in the past "Rang" is difficult to call comfortable.

The Wrangler was and remains a true off-road tool. And for the first time in the history of the model there was an option of permanent all-wheel drive, which can be used in any traffic conditions. As in the previous generation, the Rubicon version has an electrically disconnected front stabilizer. This system improves the articulation of the axles, which has become even better in comparison with that on the car-predecessor.
Engines
From the predecessor, the new Wrangler inherits the atmospheric V6 3.6 - it has 285 hp. and 353 N ∙ m. This motor is good for its torque at low revs and is best suited for those who are going to off-court hardcore. The gearbox is entirely new to him - it is a mechanic about 6 gears or an 8-speed automatic. Of the innovations in engine design - only the start-stop system, which was not previously offered for Wrangler.
