You didn't do anything "wrong". You are new so you are not likely to get much upvotes.

If you are looking for suggestions on how to improve your post so it can possibly get noticed by some more stemians.

• Add a profile picture ( It doesn't have to be of you, mine is a piggy bank )

• Add at least one picture to your post. The thumbnail ( preview ) of the picture will show next to your post once it becomes live. Most post with no pictures get lost quicker then ones that do have pictures.

• Use the introduceyourself tag when making your introduction post. That tag will likely bring you the most upvotes / comments you can get while being a newbie.
