New to the Hood

Hey guys!

My name is Maxine and I am 24 years old. Obviously I'm new to the steemit community but I am really excited to learn more about it and share my own content. I think this platform is awesome, it's really diverse in terms of it's content and I cannot wait to share more about myself with you guys.

So, I'm a student. I study correspondence through UNISA, which is the University of South Africa. I am currently studying psychology, however I have recently been thinking of changing my degree to something of more interest to me, perhaps a fine art degree maybe? Who knows. I live in Johannesburg which is a really big city in South Africa and despite what you might of heard about this country it is actually pretty awesome and I love living here. Although, I wouldn't complain if I got the chance to go somewhere new.

I'm also a wife to the most darling husband. His name is Cristopher. He has a four year old daughter, my step daughter, who I absolutely love. I also recently had my first baby who is now 2 months old (Can't believe it, she's getting so big so fast). I'm really keen to share some of my experiences and the things that I've learned from being pregnant and giving birth.

Some of my passions and hobbies include photography. I actually studied it at Vega, which is a private college here in SA. I loved it! And even though I haven't practiced in a while I definitely plan to get back into the swing of it now that I have some spare time since I no longer work. (Perks of being a stay at home mom) I use to work at a remedial school as a tutor and boy was that fun! It was very intense work and required my full attention, probably because it was so difficult getting the kids attention.

I was thinking of starting blog as a platform for me to write and share some of my experiences but it just seem like way to much work and upkeep for my liking. Thats why when I found out about this website I got really excited because it is so simple and I don't have to worry about keeping a website up to date. All I have to think about is what I want to write. I'm using this as a new challenge for myself to grow and develop and I hope to see myself stretch, mentally, not physically (my body is still recovering form carrying a baby for 9 months).

Our newest addition had not arrived yet when this picture was taken, but there is the crew.

So guys, I hope to gain some of you as my followers in the future and maybe you can help me figure out this website a little bit better. I'd love to receive your feedback as well!
