20 Facts you didn’t know about the ⚡Harry Potter⚡ movies

1. George and Fred Weasley’s birthday is April Fools’ Day (April 1st).

2. The Hogwarts School motto is “Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus”, which means “Never tickle a sleeping dragon”.

3. In his youth, Dumbledore fell in love with Gellert Grindelwald (the most terrible black magic wizard before Voldemort).

4. Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling share their birthday, on 31st of July.

5. After Hogwarts, Luna Lovegood married Rolf Scamander – the grandson of Newt Scamander, who we all know from the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie (The second part, “The Crimes of Grindelwald”, will be premiered in November 2018).

6. J.K. Rowling used her depression following the death of her mother as the model for the Dementors and the feeling that they trigger in you.

7. In the Battle of Hogwarts, when Voldemort died, he was 71 years old. Pretty young for someone, who wanted to be immortal and live forever. ;)

8. 6-2-4-4-2 is the number that Arthur Weasley types in the phone to get to the Ministry of Magic. The letters underneath those numbers on a telephone keypad spell out the word “magic”.

9. The actress who played Moaning Myrtle was 37 years old at the time when the second part “The Chamber of Secrets” was filmed.

10. J.K. Rowling actually doesn’t have a second name. In order to appeal to male readers, she was told to use her initials, rather than her real name. So she just borrowed the “K” from her grandmother Kathleen.
    

11. Alan Rickman, the actor who played Professor Snape, was the only actor who knew his character’s fate before the release of “The Deathly Hallows”, because J.K. Rowling thought it was important for acting Severus Snape.

12. Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, got the pockets of his Hogwarts robes sewn shut while filming “The Prisoner of Azkaban”, because he used to sneak food into the filmset.

13. If Muggles ever stumbled across the Hogwarts castle, it would just look like a dilapidated building with a “Keep Out - Dangerous” sign.

14. Actually the “T” in Voldemort is silent. The word “Voldemort” in fact is French and means “flight of death”.

15. In “The Goblet of Fire” Hermione teached Victor Krum how to pronounce her name right, it’s her-my-oh-knee.

16. Arthur Weasley was supposed to die in “The Order of the Phoenix”, but was replaced with Sirius Black, because J.K. Rownling did not want the Weasley family to live without their father.

17. The third smell Hermione recognizes in the Amortentia potion in “The Half-Blood Prince” is Ron’s hair.

18. Winky ,the former house-elf of the Crouch Family, is still at Hogwarts, but never got over her addiction to Butterbeer.

19. “You have your mother’s eyes” Harry Potter’s eyes actually were green in the books, but sadly Daniel Radcliffe was allergic to his contact lenses, and so his eyes stayed blue in the movies.

20. “I open at the close” - The first Harry Potter book “The Sorcerer’s Stone” or in America “The Philosopher’s Stone” was published in 1998, the same year the Battle of Hogwarts was fought.
