YOU NEED TO JOIN THE RIGHT COMMUNITY!
If your new to Steemit then you are probably fishing around trying to find out what in the world this is all about and how in the world does this all work! Don't feel bad, I am still learning too!
One thing I did learn quickly was that making friends and joining a community was going to be key in being successful here. That being said, just joining any old community will not guarantee success! Communities are a dime a dozen and usually have hundreds or thousands of members and you will quickly get lost in the herd and forgotten about.
That is why I am part of the @thehomesteadlife group also found at #thl. This group is different! Our founder, Graham, who runs @thehomesteadlife actually monitors the members of the group and encourages everyone to focus on the other team members FIRST! There will be no free loading here! If your a member and your not showing any upvote love to your fellow team members or at least resteeming their post then you wont be around long!
So if you want to be successful here on steemit and ensure that you don't get lost in the sea of minnows AND your willing to put forth a little effort to support your fellow team members then come on over and check out #thl.

I'm wondering why so few members are actually upvoting and resteeming? I spend a good deal of my efforts doing that in this community and there only seems to be a few doing this? Am I doing something wrong?
Well Rose the problem is everybody wants to throw their name in the pot to see if they can grab a few extra free upvotes but not too many people are very serious about it. Graham at the homestead life is working hard to track our members and see who is actually up voting and Reese teaming and who is not and when he can he is eliminating their name from the list. So just keep doing what you're doing and we will eventually fine tune this thing down to a good number of folks who are all serious team players.
