Why Many People Fail on Steemit and other social media platforms (2)
Many people are doing badly on steemit and if they do not change their ways then they are in for a long downward trajectory- until they see the light . Moreover, steemit is not a get rich quick scheme or HYIP program: here is not a platform for quick money rather a place where you can build your brand , community, make new friends and learn from very smart people, which in return will lead to success. Below are points to note:
- Negativity / Whining : having a negative attitude towards the platform or whining about those on trending page will not help rather lead to failure. Reason is that those people invested time in building their brand- examples @timcliff , @papa-pepper , @sweetsssj , @lukestokes , @exyle and @slowwalker -including their contacts , consistent great contents and most importantly invested in steem power. Therefore, if you want to be successful, focus on posting great contents, show interest on others by commenting on their posts (great comments not F4F or upvote spams).
- Attitude: Greed and bad attitude always lead to failure. Therefore do not comment on posts in order to get an upvote reward rather comment wisely by adding value to the posts and readers including post author will reward you without you begging for it- put succinctly, comment (prudently and not follow for follow or upvote for upvote) like a minnow, post like a dolphin (great contents) and curate like a whale.
- Moreover, focus on the knowledge you will gain here ie the learning potential, building great contacts and fun –financial reward will always follow.
- Content: many people do not put in effort in their post or videos on steemit rather consistently post a single picture of flower, animal, sun, moon , bees, flowers or sea and expect to make big money. Most worryingly, is to copy and paste other people contents (plagiarism) which will result to downvote by @cheetah , @sadkitten and @steemcleaners .
- Steem power : steem power is the secret to success here due to its many advantages examples rewards from curation , post , interest, high return when there is increase in steem price and most importantly, power & authority in the future of social media. Moreover, you can get steem power by posting regularly, curation including buying steem and powering up- especially now that it is still cheap.

as long as steemit exists which is powered by genuine true content...there must be those who will fail and those few ones who will succeed...the question s...where do you wanna belong to...whine or dine? All the points you listed are things we will keep seeing as long as there are Humans on this Platform.
What most whiners fail to realise is that Steemit is no any different from real life, there are people who have a kind of Influence mostly die to early adoption and also hard work.
What most people even fail to realize is that they are also early adopters, in my opinion the people who will join by this time next year are also early adopters.
The Magic 1% can make it on Steemit can break through leveraging on Influential associations, but the rest of the 99% will have to work out their personal brand.
It boggles me the low level of effort most people who whine put on their blog. If you feel that you are meant to earn more, then show us why you should earn more and how your work is Important.
Steemit uses proof of work and not proof of existence. You have to prove your worth.
Anyone who quits Steemit and continues on other social Media is not wise.
But like I said this is something we will have to keep hammering on because there will always be Minnows On Steemit.

Excellent points. I have written about the same phenomenon sometime ago and unfortunately people have been spoonfed with this wrong information that "go to steemit bruh.. copy a picture from google images bruh. And make a post bruh.. you will earn alot"
So they keep on doing this.. unfortunately, i always have to filter out such people and discourage them for posting bad content.. this is not a faucet where anyone will write anything plagiarised or post some random picture and will get rewarded...

Yes wonderful.. it is a bit hard since i started like 3 weeks ago but i know hardwork and consistency are keys to success here..
I havent checked my facebook since i joined here. That speaks for itself that how much steemit has inspired me...

I have to disagree with you in that point about "having a negative attitude towards the platform." To have a GREAT social site, the site has to hear those who are using it. For example, I do not like to find my platform in Spanish and today I found everything was in Spanish and I did not change it. Secondly, I went to my curation rewards and I found my latest curation reward was 2 months old. I tried to find a support system and I have not found it. Third, I was writing and suddenly I found a message saying I could not post because I did not have steem power and I had exceeded so so so. Imposible to have Steem if for two months I have not received my rewards or somebody has been stealing them. And I can keep mentioning more and more of those details, but I don't because this platform sounds like Hitler: if it is not their way, there is no other people's way. Too many watchers, too many chiefs and nobody caring about the clients. I do believe your first line: "Many people are doing badly on steemit" because this is like coming to a restaurant and finding there is no waiter and no cook. And when they see no money, like the one is promised, they leave. I have to disagree with your phrase "here is not a platform for quick money rather a place where you can build your brand, community, make new friends and learn from very smart people." There is no information regarding that in this platform, except the money and the rewards. And here you can find smart advises as well as awful strategies to manage criptocurrencies. So, not everybody is VERY SMART PEOPLE on that direction either. And unfortunately, social sites are not done believing in content, there are other sites, like IBOTOOLBOX, with writers, doing that.
I am sure that not 100% will be happy or agree with the platform ..it is also great to send in negetive constructive feedback as it will help the platform to improve and yes the service is currently not top especially when steemit was down and not being able to post if you do not have steem power. However that is the way the platform currently works and we hope that Dev will correct the issues come Hard fork 20 . With regard to meeting new people / friends and building contacts, I am sure that many people are successful in that regard because there are many communities here maybe you do not know however I outlied it on my older post here https://steemit.com/success/@charles1/are-you-depressed-and-unsuccessful-online-then-join-steemit-communities-contests and yes many are networking, making news friends , growing their contact base which in return lead to better financial performance...you just have to improve on your game and you will surely be more successful. Good post Charles. I agree completely. Granted I was absent from Steemit for two months but my average proceed from a post is about 25 cents now. Iw was a lot more. my highest paying ppost was about $90.00. reason being because one of the points you highlight. I had worked hard to build a following and pretty much lost it during my absence. mow I'm working hard to get it back. Patience is key, along with ,what OTHER people see as good content, and interaction. I make it a point to reply to everyone that comments on my posts even if it is just to say thank you for taking the time to read my post. This is very good info for anyone struggling on Steemit. In my opinion, just have fun and everything else will come in time. Good work Charles
