Jordan B Peterson Did Nothing Wrong
If you guys didn't hear of Dr. Jordan B Peterson, you gotta look him up on YouTube. He is a clinical psychologist that has changed my perspective on life. He is able to articulate profound ideas with remarkable fluency. A genius in my book. Of course, I don't agree with everything he says, but most of the time he is on point and then some. It's rare to find someone with such clarity of thought and such an accurate perception of the world. He has been the focus of a number of political scandals after he expressed opposition to Canadian government laws that regulate the pronouns individuals are allowed to use to refer to transgender people. He opposed those laws not because he has anything against transgender people but because he does not want the government to regulate the speech of individuals along ideological lines. That is the death of free speech.
Dr. Peterson has since gained worldwide popularity and a large internet following, as well as stirred much controversy with his anti-PC views. His latest interview was on the British Chanel 4 with feminist journalist Cathy Newman. In this interview, Jordan Peterson completely obliterates Newman's arguments. Here is the interview:
However, as the regressive left always does, they can't accept intellectual defeat and now Chanel 4 is trying to spin this story. They claim Cathy Newman has received threats following the interview from Peterson's fans and that they had to bring in a "security expert" to help them deal with this and that they're considering contacting the police. Despite all this, neither Chanel 4 nor Cathy Newman herself have offered any real evidence for these claims to violent threats. While it is possible that some individuals among the millions that follow Peterson have potentially used offensive language when referring to Chanel 4 and Cathy Newman, this is clearly the old leftist strategy of playing the victim and drawing attention away from losing the debate, as well as trying to smear the image of Dr. Peterson himself.
It's not hard to see why people would react negatively to the interview, as the entire interview is plagued by Cathy Newman's overly aggressive and confrontational attitude, as she always replies to Peterson with misrepresentations of his argument, one straw-man fallacy after another. The interviewer does not listen to what Peterson has to say, and when he does prove her arguments wrong, she just changes the subject. It's a very frustrating interview to watch, as the interviewer uses a manipulation technique called "purposeful misunderstanding" to try to put the man in a position of explaining himself. Peterson remains perfectly calm and cordial as Newman leads the conversation with something along these lines:
"-Women and men are different
- So you’re saying you hate women?"
After this intellectual defeat, the leftist media is trying to destroy Peterson's reputation by painting him as the source of online hate speech. The video has gone viral with nearly 3 million views and people are waking up to the irrational views of the social justice warrior left. However, the media is trying to distract from this and focus on the alleged threats Newman and Chanel 4 received following the interview. Watch the interview and judge for yourself. I couldn't see them smear Dr. Peterson's reputation without saying something. I can't just stand and watch as a good man's name is dragged through the mud. Regardless of where you land on the political spectrum, the man is a brilliant psychologist and has much to offer the world.
