Do you share what you have learned or do you hold your knowledge and wisdom close? Do you live it like today is your last ? If not, then why not? None of us are promised a tomorrow.

So I decided to get started on this adventure with the goal of finding something different than Facebook or twitter or even snap chat. I was drawn into this community in hopes of meeting people that were sick of Facebook and the hate that now permeates through too many post or from trolls. . I had come across a post online talking about the Steem coins and from there learned of steemit. And I am very happy I have. Through research and through want, I have discover an entirely different web experience. To discover that I can get away from the B.S. that is now Facebook, twitter and the rest and have now opened up a new online world. Filled with like minded people that want to have a more positive experiences it was and still is quite refreshing, to be able to make money while doing it; well that was just icing on the cake.

I have started dabbling in it a bit and slowly finding I really like this place and the positive vibes being given by. The many different ways to make money are never ending it seems. From photo contest to meme making contest. From travel stories to learning about Bitcoins. It is all there if you want to learn it. But please do your own research before buying anything from coins to bots to upvotes. Be sure to start by reading white pages and looking at the support and websites. I have found Steemit and Steem Coins that help in areas I am interested in. There is just so much information, misinformation, scam artist and phony schemes in this new world I find I have been very cautious as to what I am investing my pennies into, votes into, as well as my bandwidth. I don't have thousands of dollars to buy bitcoin and I am not fluent in the market or even how they work. I do not have SP out the arse either so I try to be thoughtful of how I use my time, and money. But being a bit of a geek I do understand how blockchains work. So I know just enough to be dangerous. lol

So as a Steemit.com minnow I go through this new world of steemit with open eyes and with excitement to learn and be exposed to so many wonderful people, knowledgeable people, artistic people, yet cautious. Again I can not stress enough to research ... I think we are eager to be kewl yet scared to death of being taken advantage of or to be played the old fool. It is easy to get swept up in the hype but just breath and slow down. I decided I would not let fear or others who know nothing about it to dissuade me. I decided here I will trust my gut and experience this amazing community selfishly to learn as much as I possibly can as well as to feed my soul. I am finding that I am going after each new days post trying to impress no one but myself. If others like it then great if not well that is o.k. too. I am finding so many amazing people from every country and from every walk of life and finding the common goals of making something , someplace better by plugging in and having thoughtful exchanges and input is very satisfying. Like no place I have even been online. It is really nice.

I decided to take $100 bucks to invest it into alt coins/ crypto currency . But little did I realize just how many there are out there. So I have been trying to educate myself. This is not an easy thing, kind of like "herding cats" I am quickly discovering. So now I have the hundred bucks saved up to invest so now what? Ummm ...hmmmm. research , research, I talked with a few people I knew and a few I didn't know but were willing to answer or at leas to direct me to information sites where I could answer my own questions. So in about 8 days I had successfully had money in an exchange and wallets set up and coins. My sense of inter accomplishment was very high. However, me trying to explain to my wife what I had spent my hundred bucks on was not as easy as I thought. I think I just drowned her in all my "facts" as I understood-them [which was very little] and she decided well it is only $100.00 as she exclaimed you are speaking gibberish and went back to her T.V. show. Check If this whole investing thing isn't scary enough I had to raise that to the next level by NOT in vesting in pork fats, oil or even gold; But in this thing call "crypto currency?"and into something called "ETH (ethereum)" and this comical token "(OMG) OmiseGO" and now this Steem ball of wax. So I took that leap of faith and I just tried. As of today I am up a few 100 bucks. But it has been a down market this week for many of us. I am holding ... per many of my new friends and old ones alike.

So This is how I got started: Maybe it can help you.

1. Found an exchange that used my pre paid credit card... Coinbase (https://www.coinbase.com/?r=5a2f07cc1a9eef00ee9f3540) which is not easy and after signing up the validation wait time was the worst because I am was so eager to try this new scary thing call investing
2. Setting up a wallet
3. Researching currency: coins, and tokens.
4. Get your feet wet and just try.
5. Keep learning new things about it all everyday.
6. Join Steemit groups on Facebook like my https://www.facebook.com/groups/clixmoney/
7. Download Discord https://discordapp.com/
8. Go to steemitchat groups for help support and to make friends. https://steemit.chat/channel/general
9. Write quality post about what you are into and write from the heart. Be kind interact in a way that you want others to interact with you. Share what you have learned and be authentic.
