Dublin being a young, fun city full of bars, we decided to stay 3 nights. On our first evening, we went to the famous Temple Bar area - and tourist bars with live music and mostly young Americans enjoying their drinks is what awaited us. Most bars in the area served the usual pub grub and had a line-up of at least 20 beers on tap along with over 100 whiskeys to choose from. Some bars even had their own whiskey distilleries.

Our favourite discovery in Dublin was the Guinness on tap, ..

Guinness on tap is the best thing to drink when in Ireland.

Dublin also felt like the capital of hen parties and every bar had at least 2-3 bachelorette parties going on at any given time.

After having done a bit of the usual, we decided to hit up a few non-touristy bars close to our hotel. The bars, opening into the alleys around, were always packed at 6 pm as locals stopped over for a drink after work. We saw the sun set around 10 pm, and it was an memory for ..

In addition to the historic landmarks, the city also has many art installations and interesting Graffiti walls.

Howth

This is just a short 30-minute local train ride from Dublin. On reaching this small town of Howth, we decided to trek the coastline route from the harbour in a loop. The trail took us through breath-taking views of Dublin bay, over sea-facing cliffs and through a wild meadow.

With 50 shades of green land and a bright blue sea on the other side, it was a surreal experience. After a strenuous 5-hour ..

Howth harbour.

We found a quaint seafood place called Octopussys Seafood tapas and dug into fresh oysters, that were harvested just 100 yards away, a platter of mixed seafood, accompanied by Guinness on tap.

After a hearty meal, on our way back to the train station, we found a place buzzing with people, called Leo Burdocks, which has been serving traditional fish and chips for over 100 years. The clientele includes a mix of regulars and celebrities such as U2, ..

Ancient and modern tombstones along the periphery of the castle.

An hour's drive out of Cashel brought us to the small town of Middleton in County Cork, home of my favourite drink, Jameson. Once there, we went on the VIP tour of the Jameson distillery and participated in the VIP tasting session. We then ended the day at a local fish and chips shop called C.F. Lennox.

Doolin

Starting early morning out of Middleton, we drove a little over 2 hours south to Sheeps Head, for a short hike through some of Ireland's most scenic coastal area.

It had started raining heavily by the time our trek ended and we began the drive along the cost towards Kenmare heading towards Doolin.

From Kenmare, ..

Fresh galway oysters served with shallots and balsamic dressing.

Our home for the night here was a B&B, Doolin House, run by an old couple. We went by their recommendation and headed to a nearby pub nearby called Mc Dermatts. Here we had some delicious seafood chowder, sirloin steak and bacon and cabbage, and stuck to the good-old Guiness.

We woke up the next day to our first home-cooked full Irish breakfast of the trip - sausage, eggs, bacon, black pudding ..

The Airbnb.

Situated on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, far away from any other human contact and in the company of hundreds of sheep, our home was one of the most beautiful places in the world. It had a full glass frontage so we could get comfortable and just watch the ocean.

During our stay we made trips to Dunfanghany for our meals and in-between explored the wild countryside of this beautiful area.

The view from the Airbnb.

What we learned by the end was, that it's not just the landscape that mesmerises you, the nicest people in the world probably too live in Dunfanghany.

Giants Causeway

We once again hit the road and drove across County Donegal to Northern Ireland .

Once there, we headed straight to the largest attraction in NI, the Giants Causeway. The place was filled with tourists and, that took away from its ..

Belfast

Our last leg of the trip was in Belfast, a beautiful city with a troubled past. The scars of the past make it a very interesting destination. This is also the city that built the ill-fated ocean liner, The Titanic, and now has multiple attractions revolving around it. The Titanic Experience gallery took me by surprise as it was a lot more int ..

Belfast is an extremely young city with a huge population of people in their 20s and 30s. The bar scene is very vibrant and the city is littered with beautiful graffiti on every available wall.

The Crown Saloon is one of the more popular bars in Belfast.

One of the highlights of our Belfast visit was the trip to the St George's Market, open only from Friday to Saturday. There were a lot of stalls selling local produce and small pop-up restaurants around this indoor market including the Belfast Bap Co and the Cuban Sandwich Factory, both of which served delicious food.
