Redmi 5A and Galaxy S9 Plus Named Android Phone Top sellers

A total of 345 million smartphone units sold globally during the first quarter (Q1) 2018.

At least according to a recent report from Strategy Analytics research firm, it is slightly different from IDC's report of 334 million smartphone units shipped this quarter.

IPhone lines still dominate the market, although the price range is higher than the majority of Android devices. iPhone X occupies the first position as the best-selling smartphone with shipments of 16 million units in the period of three months early 2018.

In the Android arena, Xiaomi Redmi 5A is dominant with shipments of more than 5.4 million units throughout Q1 2018. India and China are two of Xiaomi's most significant market countries
