The Nature of Grief
The Nature of Grief
Ibn Khafif said that sorrow can lessen the desires of the lust from the turmoil of joy. So, it could be that the grief is a God-given opportunity to awaken our inner consciousness. What a great thing if we are able to use it as a medium to get closer to God.
As Abu Usman puts it, all forms of grief are privileges and virtues for the believer, while not for immorality. If he does not give the privilege, then he certainly gives cleanliness.
According to Fudlail bin 'Iyadl, salaf scholars always say, "Everything is zakat, while zakat is grief of love of reason."
One day Abu Usman al-Hiri was asked about his grief, he said, "The grieving person will not escape the plea, so seek your grief, then ask God!"
Let's make our grief and sorrow a path to the purification of the mind and the media to ask God, when the sadness of sorrow arises in the heart turn to God, return it to Him, make it a field to draw closer to Him.
