Ripple처럼 자체 개발한 검증 오퍼레이션( Verification process)입니다.
지금 검증 노드(validator node)는 네오 프로젝트 자체로 운영되고 있습니다. 검증 노드를 변경할 때는 투표 메커니즘을 채택하죠. 만약 투표로 선출된 노드가 의도에서 벗어난다면 더 많은 문제를 야기하게 될 겁니다.
예를 들어, 비트코인 마이너miner들 51%가 연합한다면, 온라인이 가지는 효과는 손실됩니다. 특히 노드의 온라인과 오프라인은 자주 있는 일입니다. 때문에 네오는 노드 하나라도 일시적 오프라인 현상을 띤다면 수십억 달러의 모든 온라인이 영향을 받을 수 있습니다. 즉 네오는 현 암호화폐 시장에서 가장 약하고 가장 불안한 온라인 네트워크를 가진 화폐 중 하나라고 할 수 있습니다.

NEO Vulnerable?
Note that NEO is not, in fact, a PoW or PoS cryptosystem, but relies on its own validation process, in much the same way Ripple does. Currently its validator nodes are all run by the NEO project. There is a voting mechanism for changing the validator node set, which could cause further issues if one is ever voted into the control of a bad actor.
For those that aren’t familiar with the idea of trustlessness or network fault tolerance, this means that NEO’s the complete antithesis of traditional cryptocurrencies in terms of how resilient the protocol is to attack or node outages.
For example, bitcoin requires 51 percent of miners to collude to break network functionality, and nodes going on and offline is a regular, expected occurrence. NEO, on the otherhand, only requires one temporary hiccup on one node for the entire, multi-billion dollar network to fail. This means that this particular network is one of the most fragile and insecure in the entire cryptocurrency space, at least at present.
