City Of Zion (CoZ) is a group of open source developers that formed to support NEO. We provide weekly reports that summarize our goals, projects, and progress. In exchange, the NEO Council is supporting these contributions through NEO rewards.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

September is closing to be another month of growth for NEO. At the council in China, two new full-time contributors, Malcolm and Celia, have joined.

We are also pleased to publicly announce that at CoZ, since this monday, the 25th of September, Michael de Wal aka totalvamp, will be dedicated full-time to improving the NEO ecosystem. Both at CoZ, and at his soon to be established company in Japan to support the launch of utility tokens and distributed applications on NEO network, you can contact him at [email protected]. Michael is a seasoned developer with over 10 years of experience, he is currently at the front of the community in CoZ council and is the principal author of many high profile projects such as CoZ iOS and Android wallets.

CoZ is driving two campaigns:

1 - The dApps competition

2 - The Stack Exchange site proposal

The following is a list of work on COZ projects completed this week:

Neo JS

• getAssetBalance functional in full node mode for all asset types on both testnet and mainnet
• Better docs
• On Deck: Dynamic seed registration, Lazy balance and contract caching

Neo Python

• Continuing python smart contract compiler work
• Added implementation of lists, loops ( while, for x in y ), method calls, file imports
• Deployed first python compiled Smart Contract on testnet ( Fibonacci )
• Beginning to add Smart Contract specific api calls ( for example Storage.Get, etc)

ICO Slack Management Platform

• Extra functionalities
• Research into new ways to ban users

Neon JS SDK

• Several community contributions.

NeoScan

New API call to calculate total fees in a block height range:

Integration Testing

Work has begun to create a framework for automated integration testing of the Neo core nodes.

This week was the start and consolidation of some longer term plans, we invite the open source programming community to join us to push NEO forward. Join us in Slack, we hope new developers will find support from the community in #develop channel.
