NEM has awaken!

WOW NEM is on Fire!!!

NEM (XEM) is up over 137% today to $0.577 (even higher at one point earlier) with $218M in volume. The sleeping giant in cryptocurrency space has waken.

That is just incredible.

What's the news?

Well looks like NEM is going to get integrated into the WeChat app wallet, allowing users to send and receive XEM tokens easily. Well what is WeChat you ask? We Chat is like China's version of Whatsapp, it has almost one billion active users so this has the potential to be absolutely massive bringing NEM to a humungous audience. But there's much more to this app than just chat with a myriad of services accessible from it, it's like a digital multitool as far as users are concerned.

What's happening here with NEM and WeChat reminds of what Kik is trying to do with their own app and the KIN token. Main difference is, Kik Messenger has a much smaller user base, mostly concentrated in the US. Kik also had their own ICO for their token whereas WeChat are using the multipurpose and more mature NEM blockchain.
