Which is obtained just as easily using markdown. If you don't think short links are a problem tell that to the rep 67 account lost to phishing via them yesterday. Now not only is it their problem but that account is controlled by the attacker and can spread even more attacks and rep 67 posts and comments can't be hidden by flags.
I’m sorry but nobody should be clicking on links unless from a trusted source. We don’t need a spammy bot to tell us that.
