Preview :: Golden State Warriors (GSW) - 2017 - 2018 - NBA Fans TALK
With the 2017 - 2018 NBA draft here and gone, the changes happening on the NBA front during free agency this year is one for leveraging, and a few would have to think twice about.
What is exciting is the new talent coming in into this highly advertised guard heavy draft year. I believe this year brings the hype and guards play into another level as the NBA game continues to run smaller lineups, multi skills players who can all pass, dribble, and shoot a outside jumper. I am a fan of all players and all skillsets they bring onto the court for the high energy play of the NBA game of today. I will comment more about other teams in a another post.
As a NBA fan, all my life, the Golden State Warriors is the team I have been rooting for since the beginning. As my favorite team, I will break down this year's draft pick, as well all the things to look out for this year. There is a lot of hype again as we continue on and try to defend the championship.
2017 - Chicago select
Jordan Bell
Height: 6′ 8″
Weight: 225 lbs
School: Oregon
NBA draft: 2017, Chicago Bulls (Round: 2 / Pick: 38) traded to the Warriors for 3.5 million
What a steal!!
If you saw March Madness this year, and if you were able to catch Oregon's march to Final Four, you saw the guard play, but what kept Oregon in the tournament was the defense of Jordan Bell. He plays with a purpose, plays with energy to go after the ball, and make a play. He doesn't hold back on a play not like some players are in the new NBA era. Bell, is a athletic long willing defender. His shooting needs some work, but anything around the rim, lobs, and small flip shots he can hit over 60% mark especially being on this roster of deadly long bombers of (Steph, KC, Klay, Dre)
He will be that JaVale McGee if he doesn't sign back to GSW. He is not as long and athletic as McGee, but I believe Jordan Bell is more agile than McGee. If Bell is a hard worker, he will be a reliable force in the GSW lineup.
With the second game of the Summer League, if he can post those numbers there already. If he can focus on developing more shooting touch get more experience in the NBA he will be another good find who can contribute to the team in multiple of ways.
