ON THE HORIZON

I am standing upon the seashore
Waiting for a sunrise to adore
Wanting to feel that morning sting
A brand new hope to cling.

Aching to feel that light
Running from this lowly flight
Bidding farewell to a dying guise
As the daylight overrides my eyes.

Like honey glaze on my skin,
A brand new day to win
Now my heart begins to beat
A hummingbird in my chest, a feat.

The dark nights has come to cease
Time to let go of the broken piece
On the horizon with glee
