American Marten (Martes americana), also known as a Pine Marten, in the snow on Hudson Bay Mountain near Smithers in Northern British Columbia. Martens normally eat small mammals such as squirrels and rodents. They are however related to the wolverine and capable of hunting much larger snowshoe hares and marmots. I was lucky enough to see this guy out of the corner of my eye while I was snowboarding. He ran down a tree well; so I boarded over, took my backpack off, got my camera out, changed out the wide angle lens for the 400mm, and waited. After sitting there quietly for a few minutes he then popped his head up again.

Great shot!
This grasshopper came to help dig potatoes. It was at the end of August. He jumped to his shovel and looked at us curiously.

This week we were visiting Algonquin provincial park. There was a beautiful raccoon which was enjoying the sap of a maple tree.
This a the photo I took from the raccoon.
So cute )
Thanks
Lavender growing wildly on the edge of cliffs and mountains in northern Lanzerote. I get so excited when I see this flower in the wild!
a bird perched on a branch, looking around for food beside sunbathing.
99% of my photos were never edited and published, as I did not like them straight after the shoot. This is one of those forgotten gems, just stumbled over it while browsing the catalogue and found it not so bad after all with some editing.
Beautiful.
Thank you!
