A Bit of Social Distancing
Never felt so lucky to have roommates as I
do now. As much as I appreciate being alone; this much loneliness would be hard if I lived in my own apartment.
We were looking for things to do to keep from going stir crazy. The Governor said we could go for walks as long as we maintained social distancing; so we took the dogs out to the mountains near LA.
I was surprised by the snow; only an hour from LA and it was everywhere. Theo and Lola had never seen snow before; they had such fun.
There were a lot of cars but we only passed about seven people on the trail. Everyone was keeping proper distance, except the doggies. That was a worry, as were the sinkless bathrooms. I had hand sanitizer and wet ones but It was still worrysome.
It was nice to forget the rest of the world for awhile and be one with nature. Strange how the magic slowly seeps into you and brings back formless memories you can feel but not quite place.
Such a beautiful day; who would have thought I would be enjoying snow in Los Angeles.
Glad you enjoyed your outing. Snow in California? Wow!
I am in Self-Quarantine in Vienna, Austria since 10.3. - but am going for short walks.
Well in the mountains. I just shared your post about walking around Austria. I went for a bike ride earlier expecting it to be an eerie dreary landscape. Instead everyone was in their garden chatting on their porch or walking their dog.
You should try Hive, I believe everyone is moving over to it from Steem based on what has been done.
https://hive.blog/ or https://peakd.com/
are the places to start, but the way it works is that it's a fork of Steem, so your same Steem keys power your Hive account, and you have a 1:1 balance of Hive and Hive Power (HP) to Steem and Steem Power (SP). I am selling all my Steem and powering down all my SP and will exit Steem fully in a couple months once it's fully powered down.
Thank you; I did some research on Discored and signed in Yesterday. It seems most of the steemians I trust and my facebook friends are on Hive, but I will post on Steemit occasionally and keep an eye on it. It will be interesting to see how the different communities adapt and change.
