IKOGOSI SPRING.

Ikogosi Spring is located in Ekiti state South west of Nigeria.It is located between two hills and two valleys.
One of its most important features is the fact that both hot and cold water flow from the same spring parallel to each other yet on different path.

Another amazing feature of the spring is the existence of two trees that both share the same root and yet grow together.

According to Richard Burke an Irish Bishop he said,

I believe there is nowhere in the world where cold and hot water meets except at ikogosi spring ,any other would be man made.

Ikogosi spring is where you see Gods Awesome power displayed in Nature.

History of ikogosi

Legend has it in two ways which is believed by the indigenes

FIRST
At a very long time probably during the Stone Age there was a very powerful hunter who had two wives,one the wives was very gentle quiet and easy going while the other was a troublemaker.
As brave as this hunter was he could not bring peace to his home.The wives fought everyday.One day after the hunter had gone on his hunting expedition with other hunters,the wives started their usual fight and this time it was beyond control they destroyed everything the hunter had,the women even set the hunters house on fire.On return the hunter was very angry and became too violent,in the course of scolding the women the gentle woman turned into the cold part of the spring while the troublesome one turned into the hot part of the spring.

Another legend has it that,one famous hunter discovered the healing powers of the spring but at that time only brave hunters venture into such expedition to fetch for healing purpose and this can only be done after some rituals must have been performed and till date indigenes of Ikogosi have numerous testimonies to the healing powers of the spring .

The present day indigenes are proud of this gift of nature.They are eager to tell you about this when you visit example of such ailments are hypertension,barrenness and even arthritis.

On the Contrary,I personally see Ikogosi as another wonder of the world to behold,the serene,natural and uniqueness of this environment is extremely Awesome.Looking at the point where both hot and cold water meet is seeing the hand of God in action.!
