#11 MOTHER NATURE - WE LOVE YOU!

After 4 weeks of non-stop sailing you might expect that we know our new home very well now. However the sea surprisesus every day. Even though we fish daily it's always a highlight of our day when we hear the clicking nois our angle rod makes wen we catch a fish. Hence this noise isn't very loud those who sleep wake up and those on deck yell „nice“ or „shiiit“. Within seconds we stop the ship, put on some gloves and prepare gaff, knife, landing net an our selmade billet, while one of us tries to get the fish closer to the boat. … There's no fresher fish than the fish we ear and we only fish when it's possible to prepare a meal within the next hour. We see this as a gift and say „Thank you Mother Nature!“ In return we renounce to buy any meat.
Another highlight of our days is everytime we encounter dolphins, hence this happens quite often. „Ha, gay!“ is what you'all think, we know. But we can't stop acting like children, screaming, standing at the bow an watching the dolphins swimming and jumping around. They seem to be full of pure happines and we get jealous from time to time.
In the middle of nowhere, between Ibiza and Spain we met a whole family of whales in the morning hours. They were small and dark grey but we didn't figure out yet how they're called. It was majestic as the group accompanied us for about 15 minutes. We stood on deck completely quiet while we studied them swim, and those of us sleeping inside woke up from the whale song which we could hear quite loud. It's hard to describe how beautiful and incredible it was to see such a number of those majestic animals without any glass behind yourself and them.
That's why we get all the sadder and quite angry everytime we see how much waste and dirt mankind throws into the sea and how many beaches, bays and harbours are dirty as f**k.
The sea around Ibiza town for example was so disgusting, nobody of us wanted to go for a swim.
The sea is our home now and as we realize every day, we all need to protect her, now! So please stop using plastic bags and bottles and recycle your waste! Let's save the whales!
