On the top of the world 🌄

Every day off is a chance to escape. Escape from the noise to nature. Northen part of Croatia has a beautiful landscape - hills and clean air.
We started exploring some of the forgotten parts of that area.

We got to the Veliki Tabor (in Hrvatsko Zagorje region), the best preserved Renaissance fortress in Croatia from the 16th century.

'According to legend, the mighty ban Herman II had young son Fridrih, who falls in love, wandering the hills, in beautiful girl Veronika.
Father was against that love. He found out about their secret wedding in Slovenia and sent an army to catch lovers.
Fridrih was captured by fathers' soldiers and imprisoned in Celjska Kula, and eventually soldiers killed Veronica. Her dead body was built into a wall that connects the tower with the entrance to the castle. In the long winter nights, you can still hear weeping and crying.'

This part of Croatia is full of history and many legends that you can still feel in the air.
Thinking of the way people used to live here, we finally reach the top.
Nice way to run away from boring everyday life.
