Famously known as Devbhumi, or the Land of the Gods, Uttarakhand is a land of untouched natural beauty and sublime spirituality.Uttarakhand is a very popular pilgrimage site, seeing as it is the originating spot of the Ganga and the Yamuna, two of the most sacred rivers for Hindus.

              Today I will give you some interesting and attractive information about tourism place of Uttarakhand. One of the best tourism place in Uttarakhand is,  

                                                         Rishikesh

  • Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganga's River.
  • Rishikesh Situated along the convergence of Ganga and Chandrabhaga, Rishikesh on the foothills of Himalayas is the hub of many ancient temples, popular cafes, yoga ashrams and adventure sports.
  • Rishikesh has also known as Yoga Capital of the World.
  • This place has been a hub of Sadhus (saints) and there are numerous ashrams teaching spirituality, yoga, meditation and Ayurveda.     

                   In Rishikesh some famous tourism you can also enjoy it.

  • Lakshman Jhula.

  The Lakshman Jhula is a famous hanging bridge across the river Ganga that connects two villages, Tapovan in the Tehri Garhwal district and Jonk in the Pauri Garhwal district.  the entire bridge is made up of iron, is 450 feet long and is situated at the height of 70 feet from the river. The Lakshman Jhula is extremely well known amongst tourists because of the rich mythological associations that are connected with the bridge.

  • Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple.

    Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Shiva as Neelkanth is his another name. This temple is located around 7km from Swarg Ashram and the route is a 3 hour long walk along a forest path

  • Geeta Bhawan

the Geeta Bhawan is a vast and spacious complex that is located on the banks of the river Ganga in Swargashram in Rishikesh, at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas. 

                    The ashram also has over one thousand rooms that are available free of cost for the devotees to stay at. The pious devotees are also served with simple vegetarian food and Indian sweets at nominal prices during their stay at the Geeta Bhawan

                   The Geeta Bhawan Ashram is a part of the Gita Press, which is a reputed publishing house that prints a myriad of religious books for Hindus in numerous languages like English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Gujarati, Bangla, Marathi, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu and other regional languages.


  • Rafting in Rishikesh

Rafting in Rishikesh particularly is hands down the best; one could endeavour in India. From the gifted natural circumstances to the top professional assistance, the place has just the best to offer.   • Triveni Ghat

                            Situated on the banks of the holy river Ganges, Triveni Ghat, as per its name, is the spot of the confluence of the three sacred rivers- Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. These rivers are considered extraordinarily pious and pure in the Hindu religion and are celebrated by every follower of this faith. It is believed that a dip in the holy waters by Triveni Ghat can purify you and cleanse you of all sins, worries and fears.

           The evening aarti is also called the Maha Aarti and is conducted from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM every day. It is one of the most popular and well-attended rituals of the town, Rishikesh. The Maha Aarti is performed by chanting bhajans in praise of the lord and is celebrated by beating electrifying drums and rhythmic bells.

Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, its set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore.

One of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Uttarakhand, Nainital famously known as 'City of Lakes,' Nainital abounds in natural beauty, with its snow-capped hills and tranquil lakes lending it a nostalgic charm of its own.

  • Naini Lake

Naini Lake is a beautiful natural fresh body lake. The lake is in crescent or kidney shape and is one of the famous lakes of the Kumaon region.

The Naini Lake is a charming beauty that is surrounded by seven different peaks namely Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi Bandi, Cheena Peak, Alma, Laria Kanta and Sher Ka Danda.

Hindu scriptures such as the Skanda Purana mention a lake called the 'Tririshi Sarovar', which is believed to be the Nainital Lake.

  • Naina Devi Temple

Regarded and revered as one of the fifty-one Shakti Peeths that are located all across India, the Naina Devi Temple is a holy site that is situated on the northern shore of Naini Lake, in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India.

The temple was built in the 15 A.D. while the idol of Naina Devi was installed in the temple in 1842 by a devotee of the goddess named Moti Ram Shah.

Ever since the year 1918, a grand statue immersion ceremony has been taking place at the Nanda Devi Temple, on the day of Bhadrapad Shukla Ashtami. A vibrant eight-day Nanda Ashtami festival also takes place here, which is attended by a large and overwhelming crowd of religious people from all over the country. 

  •  Eco Cave Gardens  

Famous for its inter connected rocky caves, hanging gardens and the musical fountain, the Eco Garden are a set of six small caves in the shape of various animals. In the evenings, you can see the spectacle of the musical fountain with various audio video effects.

  •  Snow View Point

As the name suggests, Snow View Point offers a panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas draped in a blanket of milk-white snow.

Enveloped in cotton clouds, the peaks of these mountains ranges pierce the sky and are enlightened with shafts of sun rays that make the snow sparkle with joy.

you can also indulge in some fun activities around the area. Right outside the viewpoint, two gun shooting stalls have been set up. The guns are loaded with empty bullet shells, and for INR 30, you get 6 chances to shoot at targets that have been hung up near and far.

  • Adventure Options

During some seasons, paragliding opportunities are available. There are some nearby short trekking routes as well.
