Red Kite Feeding Time - Video

The weekend before last, I was in Wales, staying in Old Goginan. There were many red kites around but not as many as we saw when we walked to Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest. Every day the red kites are thrown leftover meat from butchers. They were once a rare sight in the UK down to a few mating pairs but now, with re-introductions and feeding stations like this one, their numbers are back up!

They know when it's feeding time and gather from miles around, diving down to pick up bits of meat and swooping back up. It's an incredible sight.
