THE LAST OF THE ICING ON THE CAKE
I knew that it wouldn't last, and it was melting fast.
Recently, on a trip up to Springfield, MO to attend an Eagle Days event we noticed the last of one of the "frozen waterfall" natural icicle sculptures on the side of the road. It was dripping rapidly, but it was still there.
I love stuff like this anyway, and enjoy being able to stop and stand there in awe just marveling at it, but now that I have all of you to share it with, it makes the experience all the more worthwhile. These ice "sculptures" form from small mounts of water trickling down the rock edges. In cold weather, they freeze and the ice builds up, leaving behind these formations.
This one was melting away during a warm day, and it was much smaller when we passed back through later in the day. Enjoy the photos!
A MELTING MOUNTAIN
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

WOW... that must have been really cold day for the waterfall to freeze in such a manner, but all the same i hope you enjoyed your trip.
We enjoyed the trip!
Have never seen anything like this before @papa-pepper, looks exactly as the frosting on a cake
Well it is good to come out of the winter blues. Here in New York we are still deep into winter.
