Work begins on Louisiana’s largest-ever coastal project to build marsh and ridge
“This pipe is about five miles long right now,” said Brad Manager, the project manager for the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority. “When we’re done with the project, there will be 11 miles of pipe.”
Interesting article about a coastal restoration dredging project in South Louisiana that will create seven miles of marsh and ridge. Dredging sure has come a long way over time, they'll be pumping sediment from eleven miles away at one point, that's a long way, and it sure does cut down on the costs of starting and stopping the whole process. I prefer the fresh water diversion projects over dredging, but you take what you can get, I guess. It's going to cost one hundred million dollars, soI hope a storm doesn't wash it away......

I wonder if they could just leave the pipe there, and hook up to it later...?
They move the pipes around, I know that, but not a bad idea.
Seems like I read about a lot of these projects, a lot must be getting done.
