Dredging starts for $32M southwest Louisiana marsh creation
The authority said 1.9 million cubic yards (1.5 million cubic meters) of sediment will be pumped from the Gulf of Mexico to make the new marsh.
Interesting article about a restoration project in South Louisiana that promises to build back critical wetlands that supports wildlife in the area. I like to see these type of projects that give nature a helping hand even though my favorite restoration projects are the fresh water diversions which bring sediment rich water to wetlands. Those diversions work all day and night building land. This dredging project won't be cheap but it'll build land fast, and that's worth something.....

Too bad it doesn't get the attention or money that places in Florida get.
I guess all of that is public wetlands to be enjoyed by all....
