Interesting article about the possibility of offshore wind farms in South Louisiana and what the affects might be to commercial and recreational fishermen. If there is one thing that recreational fisherman love it's an offshore reef that attracts the fish, and these offshore wind farms will do just that. If there is one thing that commercial fisherman dislike more than anything it's change, lol. But I'm afraid they're going to have to accept the change that is coming their way.....

How long does it take for a reef to develop on a offshore wind farm?

Not long at all, a couple years

That's good, at least the wildlife will benefit

Of course if they take down some of the oil rigs, it might be a push.

How can the commercial fisherman not avoid the wind farms, there's a lot of water out there and not a lot of things to hit?

I think they worry about the lines on the bottom more than anything else

All the way to the shore?? That would be a problem....
