This creature lives in the deep sea at about 5,000 feet below the sea. It is considered a living fossil because it shares some traits that its ancestors living in the time of the dinosaurs had.

The blobfish lives in the waters off the coast of Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. The fish has a gelatinous body and mainly just drifts at a depth of 2,000 feet waiting for its prey.
