Get rid of the moles from the wardrobe. A new way
Clothing moles are a real nightmare of every wardrobe. Their appearance heralds general cleaning in wardrobes. Why are they dangerous and how to deal with them?
- Get to know the enemy
Contrary to appearances, it is not an adult stage of an insect that is a threat to our clothes, but to larvae. Eggs are laid by adults on the surface of clothes. After about 12 days small, whitish larvae that feed on our clothes are hatching from the eggs. Depending on the conditions, the transformation of the larva into a pupa can last from 35 days to even two years!
The moth larvae mainly feed on natural animal fibers - wool and silk. Clothes from these materials are expensive, so it's worth being careful.
- Protection against moles
Prevention is important. Clothes in the wardrobe should be clean, properly washed. Stains and dirt are an ideal place for laying eggs. We must also remember about regular ventilation of the wardrobe.
You can also use natural methods to fight moles.
2.1. Cloves with cloves
Insects do not like intense odours. If you do not want to feed in your closet, put in a few muslin pouches filled with whole cloves. The smell will scare off adult insects and they will not put eggs in your clothes. In the closet you can also put a memory or some slices in which cloves are broken. Just remember to regulate it, because it will blend!
2.2. Herbal mix
You can also put a blend of dried lavender, rosemary and cinnamon into the sachets. Lavender is one of the best known moth repellents. Not only will you get rid of insects, you will also get a nice smell in the closet.
If you do not like the smell of lavender, you can use bay leaves, allspice, mint or thyme for the herbal mix. Compose your favorite fragrance mixture, pour into bags and place between clothes.
- How to get rid of clothes moles?
If the moths nest in your closet, fight them with intense oils. Empty the wardrobe of all clothes and wash it thoroughly with a mixture of 150 ml of warm vinegar and 7 drops of lemon,
eucalyptus, lavender and pine.
Wash clothes at the highest temperature allowed for them and, if possible, iron thoroughly. Insert the previously prepared scented sachets into the wardrobe.
