Explore the Magic Trees!

Trees are elegant structures of our mother nature. They are mostly recognised by nature - lovers. There is real magic in them. Basically, there's a ridiculous world in them : factories, systems, commanders, highways and kitchens. The horrifying thing is they are eco - friendly inventions!

Nevertheless , there are some trees that consist unusual features. So, I thought of taking you to some unbelievable trees so you could collect some fascinating facts. The interesting part is that these trees are in this blue planet...... not in space!!!

                Departure

Let's depart! We are gonna head to California first.

              Methuselah

Methuselah - the oldest tree in the world. It is 4,852 years old (2021). This tremendous tree is located in the White Mountains of Eastern California. It is a bristlecone pine. The substantial thing about Methuselah Grove is it can lose up to 90% (ninety percent) of its bark and still survive!

According to the web it is said that this grove's wood is extremely dense and full of resin. In case if you don't know what resin is, here's the definition : resin is a sticky substance produced by some trees.

               Pando

Here's Pando! The world's oldest clonal tree - Pando.

You might be wondering what clonal means. When many trunks have a shared root system it is called clonal colony.

Pando - also known as 'Trembling Giant' , is 108 acres (one hundred and eight acres) in size. How immemorial do you think Pando is? Pando is 14, 000 years old! Pando's got a gang of around 40 000 (forty thousand) individual trees. Trembling Giant was recognised by researchers in the 1970s. This clonal colony was proven by genecists. The name 'Pando' is a Latin name, which means 'I spread' in English. Pando has started from one single seed and is spreading by sending up new shoots from the massive, expanding root system. It is estimated that the Trembling Giant has been started at the end of the last ice age!

This famous clonal colony is in Central Utah on the Fishlake National Forest. Pando is also included in the forty wonders of the United States.

Unfortunately, some diseases are spreading in Pando - root rot and canker. Hopefully, research plots are established in all treated areas to track its progress. Nevertheless, Pando's life spang is said to be uncertain due to climate change, diseases, blight and wildfire. I hope we won't ever get a NEWS reporting our eye-catching, massive and important part of our loving mother nature is dead. On the Internet it indicates that Pando is dying!!!

It was kind of a hurtful ending to our second visit. So, now we're gonna depart away to María del Tule, Oaxaca, Mexico. The flight might take some hours!

             Arbol del Tule!

To start over, the fattest tree in the world - Arbol del Tule is in Oaxaca, Mexico and we're here to visit it! Arbol del Tule is a Spanish name. It means 'The Tree of Tule'. The tree of Tule is present in the church grounds in the town of Santa María del Tule. It is highlighted as one of the UNESCO's tentative world heritage sites. The circumference of its trunk is 42.0m (137.7ft) equating to a diameter of 14.05m (46.1ft). This is all I found about The Tree of Tule!

Oops! We've forgotten to visit the Hyperion! It's in California! Head to the airport now and back to California!!!

Well, we are heading back to California......

                   The Hyperion!

The Hyperion - tallest tree in the world. It is a coast redwood. In essence redwoods are known to be the tallest! The Hyperion is roughly 600 (six hundred) years old. It rises more than 37.9 feet from its base on a steep slope. The web bespeaks the Hyperion is still growing and is 116m in height!

The volume of the trunk is 530 cubic metres. Naturalists Chris K. Atkins and Michael W. Taylor named the Hyperion after the Greek Titan Hyperion.

Alright, now we will be leaving to Australia! A real long way........let's rest for some hours...

                           Centurion

Hurray! We are near the Centurion! Oh, I forgot to explain. Centurion - the world's tallest known Eucaliptus. This tree is located in southern Tasmania, Australia. It is 100.5m in height. As on the web, in February 2019 the Centurion was damaged from a bushfire that ruined the surrounding area but appears to have initially survived.

Nevertheless, a new hollow in the base was created by the fire as on Wikipedia.

Back to the United States!

                      The General Sherman!

General Sherman - the world’s largest tree, stands 275 feet (83m) tall and 36 feet (11m) in diameter at the base. The tree is 17.5 feet (5.3m)in diameter. The species - Giant sequoia. The General Sherman was named after the American Civil war general William Tecumseh Sherman. This tree is about 2200 years old. The most interesting thing is that it takes 40 years to grow three inches in diameter. However, General Sherman is not the largest historically recorded tree. The Lindsey Creek tree, with 90 000 (ninety thousand) cubic feet almost twice the volume of General Sherman was reported fallen from a storm in 1905.

Well, so we've come to the end of our voyage. There's a lot to learn about nature, but as you saw most of the trees are in danger because of so-called humanitarians. We have to help this blue planet to stay alive, so plant a lot of trees than cutting a lot because there's magic in them and they give a lot to each and every living being, so let's be generous and give a lot of good things to the Earth!
