The charm of Andesite Cliffs in Kalikuning

Kalikuning is a natural tourist area at the same time Camping Ground on the southern slope of Mount Merapi, precisely in the District Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Kalikuning is located under Kaliadem which once witnessed the malignant eruption of Merapi in 2006 when at that time two volunteers were killed in bunker due to hot clouds or commonly called wedhus trash.

To reach the location of andesite cliffs in the photographs below we must walk about 1 km from the asphalt road leading to Kaliadem down the path that is usually passed by locals to find grass. Arriving at the location of the andesite cliffs it feels very calm because of the lonely nature atmosphere with the view of the nooks of the formation of river waterless and high cliffs make us feel like finding a new world, in contrast to the city life filled with noise and pollution. Kalikuning area looks very cool with the many trees around it that are dominated by pine trees, as well as the cold weather of the plateau on the slopes of Merapi.
